Ana Ramos-Sanavio

Ana Ramos-Sanavio, known as Ms. Sanavio, was born in East Los Angeles and was a student in the pioneer bilingual program at Eastman Elementary in the early 1980’s. She attended public schools in LAUSD including Eastman Avenue Elementary, Stevenson Junior High and Garfield High School. She received her bachelor’s degree from Occidental College and her teaching credential from the Teach LA Program developed in collaboration with UCLA Center X and UTLA. Ms. Sanavio also has a Masters in Social Work from California State University, Los Angeles.

Ms. Sanavio has worked in the classroom for 10 years. She recently returned to the classroom after working for 8 years as a psychiatric social worker with LAUSD. She missed the energy of the students in a classroom and of the community of a school.

She enjoys spending time with her busy family. She also enjoys reading, taking nature walks, traveling, and listening to classical music live. She is fluent in Spanish and Italian, and is raising her children to be trilingual.
