Ms. Markarian was born in Beirut, Lebanon.  She moved to the United States when she was 8 years old, and grew up in Hollywood, California.  She received her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and later, her Teaching Credentials, at California State University at Northridge.

One of her first teaching jobs was at Los Feliz Elementary, where she was once a student.  She taught at Los Feliz for 8 years, and later taught at Atwater Elementary for 3 years.  Ms. Markarian is currently in her 9th year of teaching at Micheltorena, where she has taught pre-kinder, kindergarten and second grades.

She states:  ”I enjoy teaching in the primary grades because that’s where the foundation is set for the love of learning.  I love to contribute to building lifelong learners, and help students reach their full potential!”

When she is not teaching, Ms. Markarian enjoys bicycling, camping, dance classes, skiing, and spending time with her family.
