Jay Stolmack hails from both Oakland, California, and Cincinnati, Ohio. He received his BA in Music from Cal State Hayward, received his Masters in Music from USC, and his teaching credentials from National University.
Career highlights include receiving a Graduate Fellowship from USC, and being recognized by the LA City Council, in conjunction with Franklin Avenue Elementary, for excellence in arts education. He was also appeared on the television show 60 Minutes, and where he spoke about his experiences as an LAUSD music teacher.
Mr. Stolmack loves teaching. He says, “everyone has a hidden musician lurking inside them. I enjoy helping students make that discovery.”
When he is not teaching, he enjoys playing the saxophone, cheering for his children in their sports activities, skiing, and getting away from it all with his wife, Debra.
