The Micheltorena PTA formed in 2007 and is part of the California and National PTA organizations. The National PTA was founded in 1897, and prides itself on being a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and communities, and a strong advocate for public education at the state and national level.
The Micheltorena PTA is comprised of parents, students, teachers and school administrators, and yearly dues are $7 per person. Membership dues go towards supporting school programs, such as field trips and school-wide educational events. Annual PTA events include hosting the Great Pumpkin Festival, Leprechaun Leap Dance, and Teacher Appreciation activities. The PTA also is in charge of selling Micheltorena t-shirts and the room parent system. Our goal for 2012-2013 is to raise $7000 for school field trips and other school activities.
All are welcome to attend PTA association meetings, which are held in the Parent Center. Meeting times are posted in the school calendar. Donuts and coffee are served at the Association meetings!
