NATURE WORKS EVERYWHERE GARDEN GRANT ($2,000)

LAUSD LET’S MOVE! ACTIVE SCHOOLS GRANT ($1,500)
We were awarded this grant in Aug 2015. These funds are intended to help bring the many benefits of physical activity to students attending Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD).
LAUSD SEEDS GRANT ($25,000)
We were awarded this grant in June 2015, which provided us with $25,000 towards greening our campus. We also received an additional $25,000 in matching funds from the school district. The funds were used to tear down some old bungalows, install irrigation, and replace them with a green space, that is currently under construction and being planted. When it is done, we will have California native outdoor classroom including an oak grove, native plants, and a monarch butterfly habitat. This is a first phase in the goal of eventually transforming our entire playspace as outdoor park, which would still allow for the minimum LAUSD required “play space.”
