Jenny Quijano was born in Hollywood, California. She received her BA with magna cum laude in Child and Family Studies, and an Education Specialist Credential with Autism Authorization at CSU Los Angeles. She is currently finishing her MA in Child and Family Studies with an emphasis in Special Education at CSU Los Angeles. She has an extensive wealth of knowledge in the use of various classroom strategies, tools, and techniques for working with students with special needs. This knowledge allows her to ensure that each child accesses core curriculum, and that it is tailored to their individual needs.
This is her first year at Micheltorena, but has worked with the district for over ten years. She moved from a school in the South Bay, where she taught a SDP classroom with 3rd to 5th graders. She has worked with students from different economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds. She also has experience working in both general and special education classrooms.
In her free time, Jenny Quijano likes going to concerts, cooking, and trying new restaurants and food trucks!
She is looking forward to an exciting year. It is her goal to provide all students with an educationally challenging, fun, and safe classroom experience.
